Post-Katrina, the ministry embarked on building a multi-purpose
building at our headquarters in Stone County, Mississippi. When completed, this structure will be
capable of housing 25 – 30 people at a time, with its primary purpose
being to house the work teams that continue to come to the Mississippi Gulf Coast on
a regular basis.
95% of
the lumber for this building was taken from the fallen trees on the
Walker’s property after Hurricane Katrina. Volunteers from around the
country are helping with the labor and various churches and individuals
have donated additional materials for the building as well.
Progress
on the building has been slower than we had hoped, but we are very
thankful that as of May 2008, we are nearly 90% completed. Some
interior trim work, flooring and bathroom tile work remains to be
completed.
We are praying that the Lord will provide the necessary materials and
laborers to assist the completion of this project by the end of 2008.
