Upon returning to Mississippi in 1994, the Walker’s took their experience with No GreaterLove Ministries’ street witnessing ministry in New Orleans, Louisiana during Mardi Gras and chose to focus primarily on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
With two Christian floats in most of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Mardi Gras parades each year, the ministry typically passes out more than 100,000 tracts and thousands of Bibles during the roughly six weeks that is the Mardi Gras season.
During the 2010 parade season, we were blessed with the help of No Greater Love Ministries of Du Quoin, Illinois (www.nogreaterlove.org), Congregational Christian Church of Darlington Indiana (www.cccofdarlington.org), and Underwood Baptist Church of Florence, Alabama (www.underwoodbaptist.org) which sent groups to help out. Their presence was greatly appreciated and well received. ![]()
Through God’s provisions were able to pass out over 100,000 tracts and 5000 Bibles! We had a significant increase of Bibles from last year. Praise God for the increase, and thanks for all of your prayers!! What a Blessing this has been!
**Our goal: 6000 Bibles** It is heart-wrenching to see the disappointment on a person’s face who asks for a Bible and we do not have one to give. We hope to not have to experience that next year. A special thanks to:
Emmett and Wanda Pillaut www.emmettandwanda.com Common Ground Ministries http://cgmok.com/index.html Their dedication and faithfulness to the Lord and their willingness to join us in our ministry by providing live music for the floats is such a blessing to us. We believe many people were touched by the uplifting songs and preaching that they so lovingly presented.
