Florida.
While the national news media focused their attention primarily on the flooding in New Orleans, the utter devastation along the Mississippi Gulf Coast went largely unnoticed. Rather than evacuate for the hurricane, the Walker’s chose to stay in their Stone County home during the storm. When the worst had passed, the fury of Katrina was evident.
The work teams who have come to the Gulf Coast as a result of this ministry have helped hundreds of Gulf Coast residents: repairing roofs, clearing storm debris, repairing houses, etc. as well as helping to distribute food and other items essential to the rebuilding process. To the thousands of individuals from across the country and around the world who have come to the Gulf Coast region to assist in the rebuilding process: Without your help, this region would not be as far along in the rebuilding process as we are. |
